How GOP-Fawning Can Chris Matthews Get?
MSNBC "Hardball" host, Chris Matthews, loves George W. Bush, the person. And he loves to remind us that we supposedly "love" George too. Even when Bush's favorable numbers plummet, there's Chris telling us we love George. Does he think that if he says it enough he can make it so?

But Matthews is getting even wackier. In a recent airing of the increasingly pathetic "Hardball," host Chris Matthews gets even flakier than usual. He focuses on the "smells" of possible presidential wannabe Fred Thompson (R-TN. Here's an excerpt:

Does [Fred Thompson] have sex appeal? … Gene, do you think there’s a sex appeal for this guy, this sort of mature, older man, you know? … Can you smell the English leather on this guy, the Aqua Velva, the sort of mature man’s shaving cream, or whatever, you know, after he shaved? Do you smell that sort of — a little bit of cigar smoke? You know, whatever.

Democrats ought to pull the plug on Matthews appearances. With his blatant bend-over-backwards (toward Republicans) behavior, there is no chance of a fair hearing. You can read more about the absurd Matthews discussion at Think Progress here.
